The Houston Rockets this weekend (Saturday 5/4/2019) at Toyota Center will try to win this one if not, the Warriors have a shot at closing out this semi-final playoff.
This past Tuesday it was not a pretty game for Houston. Here is how the New York Times.com  described the play," . . .the game’s biggest stars — Stephen Curry and James Harden — injected some much-needed nobility into the proceedings by playing through their gnarly injuries in the Golden State Warriors’ 115-109 Game 2 triumph over the Houston Rockets.

It was Curry and especially the under-fire Harden, more than anyone, who helped nudge the league’s marquee series away from a suffocating, dispiriting debate about how the game is officiated when the Warriors and the Rockets meet.

Curry shrugged off a nasty-looking dislocated middle finger on his nonshooting hand, which he sustained in the opening quarter, and finished with 20 points despite his 3-for-13 struggles from 3-point range. Harden, meanwhile, was left with a scary laceration on his left eyelid and two bloodshot eyes after taking an inadvertent rake to the face from Draymond Green — but he amassed a team-high 29 points through blurry vision despite squinting and wincing for the rest of the evening."      Houston's Grand Opera this weekend continues its staging of Don Giovanni an opera in two acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. Don Giovanni is based on the legends of Don Juan, a fictional libertine and seducer. It was premiered by the Prague Italian opera at the National Theater (of Bohemia), now called the Estates Theatre, back in 1787. Da Ponte's libretto was billed as a dramma giocoso, a common designation of its time that denotes a mixing of serious and comic action. Mozart entered the work into his catalogue as an opera buffa. Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. Houston's Grand Opera bills it as, "Seduction, passion, and guilt lead to a fateful end."

Portuguese diva Mariza performs this weekend at the Wortham Center. Mariza has sold millions of records worldwide.
The international singer performs a native musical style of fado, but uses a wide variety of musical styles, including gospel, soul and jazz. Her father strongly encouraged her to adopt fado; he felt that participating in the traditional music would grant her greater acceptance in the Portuguese community. Fado is a music genre that can be traced to the 1820s in Lisbon, Portugal, but probably has much earlier origins. The word "fado" possibly comes from the Latin word fatum ("fate", "death" or "utterance").
