Weekend of
September 30th - October 2, 2022

Houston's Weekend Planning Guide
is updated continuously

This is the last weekend of September and the first weekend of October 2022. We will finally be getting cooler weekends as we enter October.

This weekend if looking for something cultural to explore.  The "creole" here in the Bayou City maybe the ticket. They're two festivals celebrating these Americans.

Creole generally means a person or people of mixed colonial French, African American and Native American ancestry. The term Black Creole refers to freed slaves from Haiti and their descendants.

In these times for some; "Make America Great Again", politically ----maybe checking out these events may help.

A "creole" event may perhaps shed some light on how we never stop being "great".

The entertainment, the food, the fashion all part of this pageant, we can call "great". Check out these creoles. Both are today, Saturday, October 1st, 2022.

Here we go:
Houston Creole Festival 2022
11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Emancipation Park
3018 Emancipation Ave

Directions (Map)

The promoters of this festival calls it, "A unique festival for all where the people are united through music, dance, food, arts & crafts, fashion, and culture."

Houston Afro Creole Music Festival 2022

Okay, I'm a little bias on getting to know "creoles" my grandma was a "Rochon"...oh how I do remember my aunt Atonce's sweet shop. I was five. JWM
