Weekend of
September 23rd-25th, 2022

Houston's Weekend Planning Guide
is updated continuously

This is the first official Fall weekend in the Bayou City,(Fall began Thursday, September 22, 2022)  but we can continue to expect temperatures to remain in the 90's. We're in Texas damn it!.

This weekend if you have never heard him play its a good time to catch Joshua Bell. Bell has performed with he Houston Symphony numerous times getting standing ovations on several occasions. This weekend Bell performs Sibelius’s sparkling Violin Concerto.

Malcom Gladwell in his book The Outliers concludes if a person practices a lot and I mean a lot along with other factors, they will become super proficient at whatever they're trying to achieve. He called them outliers.

Gladwell implies that the practice was beneficial, but we must look at other things going on to help create their success. Gladwell argues that the true story of success is very different from what we might think, and that if we want to understand how some people thrive, we should spend more time looking around them-at such things as their family, their birthplace, or even their birth date. And in revealing that hidden logic, Gladwell presents in his book a fascinating and provocative blueprint for making the most of human potential.

I think Bell fits that Gladwell narrative.
