Sunday at the Green  from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. it's "Tejas Got Soul: Los Monarcas de Pete y Mario Diaz plus Grupo Fuerte" Discover a uniquely Houston musical legacy created when Tejas met Soul. In the 1960s Houston’s Chicano musicians, inspired by the soul, blues and zydeco traditions of Bayou City, developed a style of conjunto music distinct from the rest of Texas.

These free concerts feature bands that exemplify the history and promise of Tejas Got Soul. You may just discover your favorite band. Tejas Got Soul at Discovery Green is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and funded in part by the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.
