This is weekend 41 with our daylight getting shorter and evenings starting a little early. We will fall back to standard time in about three weeks.

This weekend its and R&B throwback with the promoters calling them, "The Titans of R&B", its Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant and After 7. (On our Weekend Saturdays page).

In The Woodlands its The Black Keys with Band of Horses and The Velveteers at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

All Music.com writes, (The Black Keys) are "a raw, visceral blues-rock outfit inspired by the likes of such juke joint rockers as Junior Kimbrough". They're on our Weekend Saturdays page also.

In Conroe it's their Cajun Catfish Festival opening Friday through Sunday evening. The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is held the 2nd full weekend of October each year in historic downtown Conroe. The family-friendly event features non-stop live music with local, regional and national performers on three stages, food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites, arts & crafts vendors, a professional carnival, assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant and a KidZone area with activities for children and a special performance stage featuring local dance teams, community groups and entertainers. The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is a cultural program of the Friends of Conroe, Inc., a non-profit community organization dedicated to furthering the common welfare and well-being of the city of Conroe, Texas. Finally its October so let the beer festivals reign. It's the 10th Annual King's Oktoberfest in The Heights.
