Its's 80's icon Debbie Gibson in Houston this Saturday at HOB Houston in GreenStreet. Gibson burst on the Billboard Pop Charts at sixteen with the self-penned “Only In My Dreams.” Gibson bio goes on to say, "The “Original Pop Princess” quickly became the youngest artist ever to write, produce and perform a No. 1 hit song, “Foolish Beat,” on the Billboard Hot 100 and entered the Guinness Book of World Records. To date, she is still the youngest female to hold that record. Less than a year later, she did it again with her self-penned and produced hit “Lost in Your Eyes” making her to this date the sole female artist to have written, produced and performed two No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Gibson has sold more than 16 million albums worldwide and released 10 studio albums and five compilations.
Friday night at Warehouse Live in the Studio its Austrian Dean Lewis. Lewis released his first single 'Waves' in 2016, and it was a number 12 hit in his native Australia for weeks. He followed this with the singles 'Need You Now', 'Lose My Mind' and 'Chemicals' from his debut EP Same Kind of Different. “Proceed” will feature the Houston Contemporary Dance Company presenting new and signature works from our past three seasons as well as a guest appearance by our second company, Houston Contemporary 2. This performance will include a new work by Ja’ Malik who is quickly becoming an in-demand choreographer based in Harlem, New York. Malik has created works for North Carolina Dance Theater 2, Oakland Ballet, and CityDance Ensemble of Washington D.C. The New York Times mentioned that “Ja’Malik’s unpredictable physical inventiveness and theatrical sense mark him as a choreographer to watch.”- Roslyn Sulcas.
