Many of us started the weekend in the 30's as we near the end of February 2023.

It's Mardi Gras weekend on Galveston Island. Mardi Gras,  that annual celebration of life before Ash Wednesday.

The public party that always involves masking and costumes with popular celebratory colors of purple, green, and gold.

This weekend. The usual parades will begin at 25th Street and Santa Fe Place and head south on 25th Street. The parade will turn at 25th and Mechanic, and loop twice around Strand/Mechanic. (Click Here for Parade times on the island.)

 

In Houston its the Rockets annual Rockets Run staged near the Toyota Center.

Each entry receives one Rockets game ticket, one commemorative T-shirt and free admission to the Post Race Party at Root Memorial Park.
