[From All Music.com-Stephen Thomas Erlewine] A singer/songwriter who splices together throwback soul, modern production, and a laid-back pop vibe, John Splithoff released his first EP in 2013 but began to gain momentum with the digital releases of 2016's "Sing to You" and 2017's "Show Me." A native of Chicago, Splithoff spent some time pursuing a musical career there before he headed to New York City. In 2013, The Move became his first EP. He pared down some of his rock influences and increased the electronic gloss on 2014's "What If She Wants You," a single that set the pace for what came later.

In 2016 he sang on "Woke," a single by Saturn & Orygin, and released the sleek "Sing to You," followed in 2017 by "Show Me" featuring vocals by Madison Ryann Ward. Following the Armando Young collaboration "Stepping Stone" later that year, Splithoff returned in 2018 with the six-song Make It Happen EP.

[From All Music.com] Chicago hardcore band Harms Way is a powerfully versatile heavy music outfit who incorporates various hard-edged influences into its sound. The group began by exploring powerviolence and grindcore, bw release, their sound growing to include elements of metalcore, power metal, groove metal and more by the time of their fifth album, 2023's Comut evolved with every nemon Suffering.
Harm's Way - Undertow feat. King Woman
Harms Way began in 2006 as a side project conceived by members of the straight-edge hardcore outfit Few and the Proud. Drummer Chris Mills, vocalist James Pligge (aka Hammers McPligue), bassist John Caution, and guitarists Bo Lueders, Jon Hofacker, and Jay Jancetic initially worked in the short, spastic, power-violence style of early-'90s punk innovators like Crossed Out or Man Is the Bastard. Harms Way released a few 7" singles in their first few years and developed their sound with each subsequent release. Lineup changes ensued over the years, and Harms Way worked with a variety of labels, releasing their first album, Reality Approaches, in 2009 and following it with 2011's Isolation. They shifted from a death metal sound to a more industrial-leaning one with 2013's Blinded EP, which would be their first release for Deathwish Inc., the label of Converge member Jacob Bannon. Their third album, Rust, followed in 2015. Harms Way made their Metal Blade label debut in early 2018 with their fourth set, Posthuman, which featured the single "Human Carrying Capacity." Their fifth album Common Suffering arrived in 2023, with the band heavier and more musically diverse than ever, bringing metalcore and a heightened rhythmic component into their songwriting style.
