Keeshea Pratt Band
with Special Guest Hustlers Brass Band
@The Heights Theatre

Friday 6/2/2023 7:00 PM

[From Keeshea Pratt Band.com] Singing since the age of six, Keeshea Pratt has shared the stage with several notable national figures including bluesman Bobby Rush, Eddie Cotton, opera singer Grace Bumbry, soul singer Musiq Soulchild, and gospel icon the late Reverend James Moore.

Pratt has accomplished what few Mississippi based singers before her has ever achieved: The ability to attract fans from all walks of life without ever straying from the intricate roots that nurtured her awarding winning voice in the first place.

About Keeshea Pratt - Keeshea face close-up looking directly at camera Pratt’s impressive musical range and undeniable charisma changed the landscape of local entertainment by displaying the kind of vocal immediacy and vulnerability possessed by few singers and leaving you wanting more.

Draped with amazing style, class, and sophistication, Pratt takes you on a journey through all genres of music. “I always get asked the same question,” says Pratt, “What type of music do you sing?” My answer has always been the same… “I sing it all.”

Keeshea Pratt Band live in San Antonio 2023

There has been an elite array of influences with unique sounds and styles that has cultivated Pratt’s alluring and spirited presentation. She’s an artist that appreciates all genres and refuses to be put in a box, and her connection with her audience allows her to tap into whatever their mood is and render an offering of shear vocal pleasure.

Some of Pratt’s accomplishments include “The Jackson Free Press Artist of the Week 2011”, “The 2012 Female Artist of the Year in the Jackson Music Awards”, and a featured artist the 2010 Chicago Blues Festival. Her road to the top of her musical game in Jackson has been filled with the type of conviction that now causes a younger generation to look to her as a musical influence.

The Blues Foundation out of Memphis, TN crowned Keeshea as the Queen of the 2018 International Blues Challenge (IBC) on January 21, 2018 as the 34th annual edition of the blues competition wrapped up at downtown Memphis’ Orpheum Theatre with Pratt and her brass-heavy Texas ensemble taking home 1st place in the best band category. The Keeshea Pratt Band, a little over 8 months old, went to Memphis and left a mark that will forever be talked about.

One encounter with Pratt and your life is changed! Are you ready for the experience?

Bryson Tiller
@House Of Blues

Friday 6/2/2023 7:00 PM

[From All Music.com-Andy Kellman] Bryson Tiller became one of the key breakout stars in 2010s contemporary R&B with the single "Don't" and a descriptively titled parent album, T R A P S O U L (2015), a moody if swaggering set of slow jams that neologized a subgenre the singer/rapper took to the mainstream with multi-platinum certifications and Grammy nominations. True to Self (2017) and A N N I V E R S A R Y (2019), his subsequent studio albums, have either topped the Billboard 200 or reached the chart's Top Ten. Tiller's additional hits as a featured artist and duet partner are highlighted by DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" and H.E.R.'s "Could've Been."

Bryson Tiller - Right My Wrongs

Tiller started singing and rapping as a high schooler in his native Louisville, Kentucky, and in his late teens released a mixtape, Killer Instinct, Vol. 1. He was just into his twenties when SoundCloud uploads such as "Don't," "Break Bread," and "Let 'Em Know" brought him greater recognition. Timbaland reached out to collaborate and convinced Tiller to quit his job to do so. Drake expressed interest in signing Tiller to his OVO Sound label, but after some deliberation, Tiller accepted an offer from RCA, and made his major-label debut in May 2015 with the commercial release of "Don't." The sparse ballad peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 (and eventually went multi-platinum). The full-length T R A P S O U L followed a few months later and reached number eight on the Billboard 200. Within six months, the album was certified platinum, supported by additional multi-platinum hits "Exchange" and "Sorry Not Sorry," the latter of which was co-produced by Timbaland. "Exchange," a number 26 pop hit, was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best R&B Song. Read more @All Music.com (Click Here)

Gareth Emery
@Stereo Live

Friday 6/2/2023 10:00 PM

[From All Music.com-Andy Kellman] Gareth Emery, also known variously as GTR, Cupa, Digital Blues, Rue de Gar, and Runaway, is an English DJ and producer with an open-minded and fuss-free approach to spinning, creating, and performing several styles of electronic dance music, including progressive trance and tech-house. Known overground since the early 2000s, Emery first gained attention with his remix of the Shrink's "Nervous Breakdown" and his GTR single "Mistral" (both released in 2002). Emery has maintained his prominence behind the decks -- he was voted into the Top Ten of DJ Mag's Top 100 poll in 2009 -- and as a recording artist, adding to his discography with studio albums ranging from Northern Lights (2010) to The Lasers (2020).

Born Gareth Thomas Rhys Emery in 1980, Emery grew up in Southampton, England alongside his sister, singer/songwriter Roxanne Emery. Classically trained on piano, he also played guitar in punk bands during his high school years. It was while earning his degree in politics from the University of Warwick that he became interested in electronic music, especially trance. He began remixing songs by others, and quickly moved into producing his own tracks. In 2002, his remix of the Shrink's "Nervous Breakdown" started gaining attention, including getting played on BBC Radio 1. He made more of a name for himself later in the year with his own "Mistral," released on his and Alexis Hooper's Five AM label under the name GTR. The Five AM Sessions (2005) was the first of his several commercial mix albums. Read more @All Music.com (Click Here)

Classic Albums Live Performs
Sgt. Pepper’s
Lonely Hearts
Club Band
Featuring The Houston Symphony
@Miller Outdoor Theatre

Friday 6/2/2023 8:30 PM

An absolute fan favorite, and CAL is bigger and better this celebratory year, partnering with our own Houston Symphony to recreate this epic 1967 Beatles album. A night the whole family will want to experience!

Sgt. Pepper’s was the Beatles 8th album, and they were definitely trying to do something a little different. The music is rich and complex, heavy with overdubs and a psychedelic vibe.

Classic Albums Live is known for recreating incredible music note for note, cut for cut, and tonight will be no different. As an added bonus, they’ve teamed up with the incredible Houston Symphony for a night you won’t soon forget!

All performances at Miller Outdoor Theatre are FREE!

Randy Rogers Band
White Oak Music Hall
Lawn

Friday 6/2/2023 6:00 PM

[From All Musif.com-Marisa Brown] From an early age, music was an important part of Randy Rogers' life. Rogers was raised in Cleburne, Texas, and his great-grandmother taught him how to play the piano at age six, and by eleven Rogers was writing his own songs and learning chords on the guitar.

After some time spent in a backing band, Rogers decided that he wanted to front his own group, and soon he and some friends from college formed the Randy Rogers Band, releasing their debut album, Live at Cheatham St. Warehouse, recorded at the bar of the same name in San Marcos, Texas, shortly after their first practice.

In 2002, their first studio album, Like It Used to Be, came out, followed by 2004's Rollercoaster, which featured the by now solidified lineup of Geoffrey Hill on guitar, Jon Richardson on bass, Brady Black on fiddle, and Les Lawless on drums. The next year RRB released Live at Billy Bob's Texas and also signed to major label Mercury Nashville, which issued Just a Matter of Time in 2006.
