As the most competitive and highest-profile motorcycle racing championship in the world, Monster Energy Supercross has entertained millions of fans for 44 years.

Supercross is a variant of motocross which involves off-road motorcycles on a constructed dirt track consisting of steep jumps and obstacles; the tracks are usually constructed inside a sports stadium. The easy accessibility and comfort of these stadium venues helped supercross surpass off-road motocross as a spectator attraction in the United States by the late 1970s.

Supercross was founded and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) in 1974 and is currently co-sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the official global governing body for motorcycle racing, making it a formal World Championship.

Supercross Futures, an AMA Amateur National Championship, is the official advancement platform of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. The new points-paying series provides the world’s fastest amateur athletes a chance to compete in the same stadium and on the same dirt as the elite athletes of Monster Energy Supercross while honing their skills in advance of their professional careers.
